While I was away on holiday I took a complete break from both sewing and the computer.
It was something that I needed to do and perhaps something that I should do more often (especially the computer part).
I really enjoyed it and it definitely added to the relaxation of the holiday, but it left me in need of something to do in the evenings. Luckily I had the perfect project. A bit of selfish knitting in the form of a Tea Leaves cardigan.
The yarn is Red Riding Hood Yarn in the colour Flight of the Griffin. Its a really gorgeous shade of deep jade green and I love it!
The knit was pretty straight forward (except the part where I ran out of wool and had to make the sleeves 3/4 length- oops!).
My biggest source of indecision in the making of this cardigan was the buttons. I found these cute bicycle buttons in my stash but I must admit that I am not completely committed to them. What do you think? Should I replace them with something subtler?
Delightful! Selfish crafting is wonderful isn't it :) xx
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely just lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the 3/4 sleeves
Awesome colour - you did such a nice job :)
ReplyDeletecute! love the colour on you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And it is the perfect colour on you! looks so comfy too, I bet you'll get alot of wear out of this :))
ReplyDeleteoooh and what an achievment for knitting for yourself!! I am always daunted by the amount of work it takes....but you just sped through this! wow!!
ReplyDeleteLooks so snuggly! great knit - well done you and a gorgeous colour indeed :) mmm i love the buttons but dont know if they fit? and I have to say - love the first shot with the model leg and all! x
ReplyDeleteI love the buttons too, but possibly not on that cardigan. I'd investigate some wood buttons for it, I think that would be a nice contrast but more in keeping with the finished item. Makes me wish I had enough of RRHY to make a jersey; but alas, I have one skein only.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful - love the colour (and the buttons!)
