Wahoo! Can you believe it?!
I have just published my twelfth New Zealand Native Bird Pattern.
Its a Kokako.
Ummm... did you notice that I didn't say "twelfth and final NZ bird pattern"?
I ended up designing one more bonus block (which incidentally still needs to be tested by one more tester- any volunteers?)
Again, this is a pattern with lots of teeny tiny pieces. I have taken pity on those who are feint of heart and I have added a "sanity saver". There are two options for piecing both the eye and the beak area, one option is simpler than the other.
Raewyn and Carin tested the block for me. They both did a great job.
I hadn't thought of creating a sanity saver when I sent them the pattern, so they both got the advanced version!
Here's Carin's block:
And here's Raewyn's
I've said it lots of times before, but I really do love seeing what other people do with my patterns. If you've sewn one of my patterns, I'd love it if you add pictures to my flickr group.
If you would like a copy of the kokako pattern, you can find it in my Craftsy Store.
Before I forget, here's an updated photo of my version of the bird quilt. The fabric has now been ordered for the final few blocks- I can't wait for it to arrive!

ReplyDeleteI'd be happy to be a block tester as well. Love your bird blocks and paper piecing!
ReplyDeleteI love Karin's version. And how great to see them (nearly) all there together. Great that you have the two diffrent options for the eye area.
ReplyDeleteI discovered your blog just a couple of weeks ago and I'm having so much fun! I would love to test it if you still need a tester.
