Wax Eye Pattern Released

One of the worst things about designing bird blocks is having to design the feet. They are small, fiddly and if you are not careful, they add lots and lots of tiny pieces to your pattern.

Perhaps I love this pattern because the feet are hidden.
Maybe its because Wax-Eyes (or Silver Eyes- whichever you want to call them) are such beautiful wee birds.
Whatever the reason, this pattern is definitely up there with my favourites.

Both of my Wax-Eye testers are making quilts out of their bird blocks. I can't wait to see the quilts and I love how differently they are coming together already!

Here is Leonie's Wax-Eye. Isn't it cute!

Michelle continues to have fun with her scrappy style- I love it!

If you'd like to get your hands on a copy of the Wax-Eye Pattern, you can find a it in my Craftsy Store.

Here's a quick glimpse of how my bird quilt is coming together so far... I'm halfway there now!
Oh and before I forget, the winner of the Penguin Pattern is Liz

Congratulations Liz! I'll be in touch!

  1. Love this new little guy! Very clever way to avoid having those pesky feet in there!!

  2. Waxeyes are cool little birds - its good to see a variety of poses in the finished quilt top too - makes it more alive!

  3. All these birds are sewing up so lovely! This is really a unique collection :) It's really hard to pick a favourite now since they all look so good!

  4. I love waxeyes; get heaps here on my apple tree in winter; though now that they've eaten all the apples they're visiting the neighbours instead

  5. Great pattern for a cute birdie! xx

  6. Oh I like him! Especially his little eye.

  7. He is gorgeous, Juliet - another great design :-)
