I wasn't going to write a "that was the year that was" post, but as the day has worn on, my brain has been ticking over and I've realised that 2012 was a pretty huge year for me and my blog.
You see, this time last year the lovely Cat persuaded me to take part in my first quilting bee. Prior to that, I had made one quilt block, so Cat was showing great faith in me. What can I say except THANK YOU CAT!!! I guess its fair to say that joining the bee heralded the slow transformation of this blog from a Mummy/ Crafting blog to a Quilting/ Crafting blog. I hope you approve!
Another big step this year has been my transformation from follower of tutorials to writer of tutorials. It gives me such a thrill to hear from people who have followed my tutorials.
As I have tried to do ever since I started this blog, I have relished new challenges this year- foundation paper piecing, quilting, free motion quilting, English Paper Piecing and then finally designing my own paper pieced blocks.
You can be assured that next year I will continue to try new things, but I will also continue writing tutorials and designing blocks. There are some new designs simmering away in my head- I can't wait to get them down on paper.
This time last year I was in need of a blogging break. I was tired of sewing and needed to step back. This year I am feeling energised and excited. I have sewn two or three items a day over the last few days and my list of ideas doesn't seem to be getting any shorter!
This year I'm going to join in the Finish-A-Long 2013 at She Can Quilt, so I won't tell you just yet all the things that I hope to achieve in the coming months. To be honest, I'm not too sure of many of them! What I will say though is that I want to try something new- to run a linky, a swap, a quiltalong, a sewalong or the like... I don't quite know just yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I've decided!
so good your starting the new year with energy and ideas, i daresay there will be no stopping you!
