Thank you all for waiting patiently, the paper pieced butterfly pattern is now available for download.
I'd like to say a HUGE thank you to my pattern testers, ChrissieD and Jane. I really appreciate that you both managed to find time at this busy time of year to test my block, you did such great jobs!
Have a look at Chrissie's block- I love that she chose to use solids, I'm a big fan of using solids for this kind of paper pieced blocks and next time I make this block I'll go for solids too.
And here is the butterfly that Jane made up. I love the way it works in blue tones... so pretty!
Edited to say:
Spurred on by lots of you guys, I've gone ahead and done it! I opened a Craftsy store. You can find my butterfly pattern there.
If anyone has a go, I'd love to see how you get on.
I'm joining in with the very first Show and Tell, hosted by my good friend Leonie (it somehow seems appropriate to release the butterfly pattern which was designed for her and her lovely daughter on her linky!)
I love it!!!

good for you it looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I am in a block swap and the lady I am making the block for this month wants a butterfly in blues...I just about fell off my chair when I saw this one in BLUE...PERFECT! Thank you sooooooo much, I think you could charge a nominal fee for these and no one would mind paying, they are so fresh and unusual! Could you tell me what the finish size is?
ReplyDeleteI was disappointed to find that I could no longer get the butterfly free. You should change the top information to say it is available only through Craftsy.
ReplyDeleteDone- I have deleted the offending text.
DeleteSorry that you were disappointed. I started charging after being spurred on to it by many many blog readers. The charge is minimal and I always ensure that I have a selection of free patterns available on Craftsy.
It is way more than worth the minimal fee! I decided to try paper piecing and so I did a simple block with geometric shapes to learn and test it but your butterfly is the first one I chose after that first block and I'm having a blast. Thanks!
DeleteHi! I am looking for this pattern over on Craftsy and I'm unable to find it. Is it still available to purchase on Craftsy? Thanks!! familyeverafter at gmail
ReplyDeleteI can't find it either and don't have time or inclination to look through 567 pages. I really love it. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, I removed my patterns from Craftsy and have not had a chance to replace all of the links on my blog.
