Oops! Spot the scheduler mistake- ah well its out there now! Hope I didn't panic you into thinking it was Wednesday today!
I'll be honest. When I finished this block, I was a bit disappointed. I had my nose so close up to the tiny details that I couldn't see the whole picture. I obsessed about minute issues and didn't appreciate what I had just made.
Then I showed it to Mr Tartankiwi, and my toughest critic said "WOW! That's great!"
So I took another look and the more I looked, the more I loved it!
Granted, there are a few seams that would be better if they were moved by a millimetre, and I may have made a mistake in the order of the fabric on one of the points of the star, but those are the kind of mistakes that only I (or a very critical other quilter) would notice!
When it boils down to it, this is a stunning block! It is designed by Kristy of Quiet Play and she gave me the honour of testing her pattern. If you want to give it a go, you can find the pattern here, but be quick, the pattern is free until the end of October, after that you have to pay for it.
I laid all the blocks out on the floor the other night. Its really exciting to see them all together. While they were lying there, I worked it out. I need to make at least 8 more blocks for the finished quilt to look good on our bed. I must admit that I thought that I was closer to finishing than that. Ah well back to work for me!
In the meantime, you can drool over the latest version of the collage:
