***THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED***
This is the last block that I will receive in the mail for the Sampler Quilt, and what a beauty it is!
Cat made this one up using Roz's Wonky Triangle Tutorial. I LOVE it! The colours, the clean lines. Its just perfect and will look wonderful in among all the other blocks. Look, here it is in the collage just to prove it!
Now I promised the other week that I would hold a wee giveaway and I have been umming and ahhhing about what I should make. In the end I decided to make a little sewing kit. Its still a work in progress, but here are the beginnings.
You'll have to wait and see what shape the kit will finally take (to be honest I'm not quite sure myself!).
If you are interested in winning please leave a comment below telling me what essentials you would carry about in your sewing kit.
This giveaway is meant as a thank you, and as such it is only open to followers of this blog (new and old).
It is open internationally
The draw closes on Monday 15th October at 12:00 noon New Zealand time.
A winner will be chosen at random shortly afterwards.
I will make every effort to contact the winners, but if I do not hear back from them within 7 days, a new winner will be chosen.
Oops, I almost forgot to say that I am linking up with Lee over at Freshly Pieced

that quilt is going to look amazing, love the colour scheme, cant believe i love something with orange in it!
ReplyDeletea juliet sewing pouch, nice one!
i'd use it to keep my rug making stash together instead of floating around in the bottom of my basket, so it would have a couple of bodkin-needle things, several large safety pins, large sewing needle, 3 cotton reels, a small knitting needle or a chopstick, and a pair of sharp scissors, a little ruler and a pencil.
The sampler is amazing! Love the giveaway... well I don't have a sewing pouch as such, I usually take my knitting kit - so it would be ideal for me right? I have a small pair of scissors that could fit in, a few needles, some pins and some thread.. I suppose that will be the basics!
ReplyDeleteLoving the new block addition - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAs for that sewing kit - how incredibly sweet! Love it! Is it terrible to admit that I don't have a sewing kit so I have no idea what I'd keep in it other than needle, thread and scissors haha! How unimaginative!
Love the way the blocks are coming together - it is an excellent colour pallette. My travelling kit always has needles a couple of pins some thread and scissors - now I have to think of something I can do on a plane that doesn't need a needle!!
ReplyDeleteSquee your quilt is going to be A MAZING!! !! !! !!
ReplyDeleteLove that block! Definitely one of my favourites! x
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite blocks too! So gorgeous. Your quilt is going to be amazing. Can't wait to see the little sewing kit all done. :) I think I would keep the obvious in it. Thread, needles, scissors.. a button or two, maybe?
ReplyDeleteHI...WOW...Your quilt is just awesome, so many different and amazing blocks! I actually carry a sewing kit most days and the best things in there are thread, ripper, pins and my rubber thimble..cant leave home without it! What a darling case, I hope I win!
ReplyDeleteThat sampler quilt is stunning. And the triangle block is just WOW. Definitely pinning that tute. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'd try to keep a mixture of things in my sewing kit - for both EPP (my latest obsession) and embroidery. Thread, needles, scissors... :)
I've been enjoying watching your sampler come together. My sewing kit would include needles (including a wool needle), some thread in white, grey and black, scissors, some buttons, safety pin and maybe a mini crochet hook or latch hook
ReplyDeleteI don't have one, but I do need one before a couple of upcoming trips! I'd need some needles, white thread, little scissors, a little pocket for some floss or whatever... I think that's about it??
ReplyDeleteI love that last block - can't wait to see your quilt all put together. My sewing kit would just have needles and thread, maybe a safety pin. But actually I'd just love the little case, it looks so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is going to be gorgeous once it's finished. The colours are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteAs for the little sewing kit, that fabric is just too cute for words. Thank you for the chance of winning it! The essential item I would put in it if I was lucky enough to win is my thimble. I do a lot of EPP and I need a thimble to save my finger from being 'holey'.
Love the bright triangle. Orange and turquoise are great together. Really jump.
ReplyDeleteScissors! I never have a pair when I need them. Love the quilt. Cannot wait to see it when it is finished!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colours as well! Love your finished quilt blocks. I haven't ever had a sewing kit, so i would leave it to you to decide it's construction!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific block after the wait! You are going to have one fantastic quilt there. :D
ReplyDeleteI would keep applique needles, quilting needles, and a binding needle in the sewing kit, and it would live on my side table where everyone could see it waiting through the day for me to eat my dinner and do some stitching during our evening show together.
I like your triangle - did you do this with foundation paper piecing? I did one recently to using this method and it black and white - lots of fun
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing quilt that's going to be! Thanks for the link to the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteA sewing kit... well, it would have to have white thread, and thread snips. Maybe a little hoop for hand quilting? Definitely needles and pins.
Love that sweet little fabric in the sewing kit you are putting together.
ReplyDeleteI'm a-following you.

ReplyDeleteLove those apple blocks! So cute! : )
ReplyDeleteI'm simple- scissors, needle and thread for me.
I would carry scissors, pins and needles and some thread! Those apples look great!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric in this. My sewing kit has to have an unpicker, scissors, needles, threads and pins.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your sampler - great blocks, too! In my sewing kit, I would have a couple of needles, scissors, black, white, and tan/off white thread, seam ripper, small ruler, pins, and pin cushion. Thanks for the chance to win!
