I mentioned the other day that I haven't been doing too much quilting recently.
Part of the reason for that is that I have had my knitting needles out.
After the success of Scallywag's hoodie, Mr Tartankiwi has been hinting and hinting and hinting that he wants me to knit him a jumper too. He was very specific that he wanted double thickness 4 ply merino just like Scallywag. I agreed on condition that he didn't want stripes (Keeping 8 balls of wool tangle free at one point during the knitting of Scallywag's jumper drove me a bit batty!)
The wool is a different brand to the merino that I used for Scallywag. It is amazingly soft and is knitting up beautifully. The only problem is that knitting such a large size jumper is sloooow work. It feels like I've been busy forever and I am only 2/3 of the way with the back panel. I've got a long way to go!
Wish me luck, the strength to stick with this and not to get bored or sidetracked halfway through! (Oh, and keep your fingers crossed that I don't run out of wool... I've got a very bad feeling that I'm quite a bit short!)
LOVE your knitting xxx Lucky you to have a Mr who appreciates hand made
ReplyDeletethis is looking gorgeous... I love to crochet but haven't got the patience for knitting without my looms or knitting machine... it is slow and I always get too bored and don't finish my projects~ Maybe the fact that your MR is so excited to receive it will help you keep motivated to keep moving with it.
ReplyDeletethat is TRUE love - really!! It's going to be awesome though!
ReplyDeleteLucky man! I am learning to knit at last, inspired by scallwags jersey. I have to agree things take an age, and i'm only knitting a facecloth and its taken me 3 weeks so far to get 1/3 done!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can see from the photos its looks luciously soft.... and I understand the lack of posts when your knitting, I tend to do that too.
ReplyDeleteHopefully your able to get the same batch colour if you do run out :)
That yarn looks gorgeous, I adore the colour (I'm a huge fan of grey yarn!)
ReplyDeleteWishing you speedy knitting!
