Just to prove that not all sewing around here is perfect...
One totally squint and wonky hot water bottle cover!
It doesn't matter though, the new owner (Rascal) loves it and woke with a huge smile this morning! Rascal helped to choose the fabric although she didn't know what it
would be for. I'm really enjoying letting her have more and more input
in my sewing projects and she's loving it too!
Its made with minky and is super super soft, so nice to cuddle!
I've also been sewing for Scallywag. He has practically lived in the corduroy dungarees that I made him during the Kids Clothing Week Challenge, so I've been meaning to make him another pair for ages. I love them, especially the cute feature train fabric that I used for the pocket detail. Also loving the cute turn ups. I meant to do that the last time, but I accidentally cut the legs too short (ooops!)
Again, these dungarees were very loosely based on ikat bag's awesome shortalls tutorial

On mornings like this I wish for one of those minkie hot water bottle covers, or at least a hot water bottle. You know Im a big fan of the corduroy for boy. Awesome dungarees!
ReplyDeleteGood to see that you too are only human. I'm sure Rascal will treasure that hottie cover for many years to come. Good work on the dungarees too - very detailed and lovely!

ReplyDeletethe overalls are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThose overalls are AWESOME! I like the pocket detail and the turn-ups look great, but I am really impressed with the contrasting facing/lining on the straps.
ReplyDeleteCute overalls!!
ReplyDeleteLove the hottie cover! I did some for my boys this winter, and they love them... infact I often steal a cover when they aren't using them ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd the overalls are very cute... great to hear he's getting so much wear out of them! It's what makes sewing for the your kids so rewarding :)
I treasure the sewing you sent me honey, my little Posie envelope!! Love Posie
ReplyDeleteThe overalls/dungarees turned out awesome! Love the fabric and color combo. I've used ikat's tutorial too, love the pattern :)
