Last year my birthday didn't really exist.
It was my own fault.
I told people to donate their money to the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Appeal instead of giving me presents.
It just didn't feel right to be celebrating when so many people so close by were suffering.
This year, I decided that it was time to celebrate...
I Love that Rascal was so excited about my birthday this year that she accidentally not only told me what my present is, but also where she had hidden it!
I love that she handed me my first present and said "Here's your present, I'm going to help you open it!".
Any guesses who will blow out the candles on my cake?!?
I contacted a group of blogging friends and asked them to meet me for coffee and a get together. I must admit that it was touch and go as to whether I would make it as both of my boys were sick over the weekend, and neither of them is back to full strength yet, but Scallywag gave me the best present- he slept through the night until 5:15am and I didn't need to get up and change anybody's sheets during the night.
It was so great to catch up with everyone and they came bearing goodies- I was totally spoiled! Just look at all these beautiful fabrics. Three friends independently gave me these fabrics. Don't they go together beautifully!? I can't wait to make them into a quilt!
What an honour to be the first recipient of one of Deb's quilt patterns. Deb makes the most amazing quilts so I am really looking forward to making my own version of one of her quilts. I am also excited to look through this Modern Blocks book and find some great blocks for my bee quilt!
And here are a selection of some of the other yummy gifts that I received- such a lucky girl!
But the biggest present was from Mr Tartankiwi...
I will admit, I'm a bit scared of it at the moment, but I'm really looking forward to trying it out!
Last chance to enter my giveaway... I'll be back later to announce the winner later- Don't you love that its my birthday and I can give one of you an awesome present!!!
