Isn't it great when you manage to combine all of the techniques that you have been learning and create something completely new. This bag is a one of a kind!!!
I've been really excited these last couple of days, creating this bag. As each stage of the process has been successfully completed, my heart has done a little jump!
I must admit to feeling VERY pleased with myself as I didn't follow a pattern, but just followed this tutorial which taught me how to insert a recessed zip and then played it by ear with the design.
There was one stage when I got carried away and ended up having to unpick lots and lots and lots. It serves me right for going on autopilot instead of checking the tutorial! I also got a bit carried away and forgot to interface the lining (oops!)
That said, I am really pleased with the finished result... Not bad for a first attempt! Next time I'll do better still!!!
Next bag project, some more buttercup bags with this fabric. I think I'm a bit addicted to making bags!
Absolutely beautiful xxx

ReplyDeleteHi! Your new bag is really wonderful! Love the fabric also and the pattern with zipper!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic, and very nice job on the recessed zip - makes it look so much more professional! I was so excited the first time I installed a zip (I've still only done 2) so I'm well impressed with the recessed idea ;)

ReplyDeleteMaking bags is definitely addictive!!! You've done a fabulous job on this bag, especially with the recessed zipper. I love bags that close with a zip at the top. Where would we be without our unpickers...LOL!!!
