I got to work the minute that they were dry (literally!) and decided to keep the appliqué simple by just mirroring the stars on the trousers. Unsure of my ability to hand draw a non-wonky star shape, I printed a star from the computer. After a fair bit of indecision whether to attach the appliqué by hand or using the sewing machine, I finally decided on the machine. I must admit to having had a couple of minor mishaps along the way, but these were easily sorted and I'm now really happy with the way they turned out.
