Last night I got that creative itch...
It felt like AGES since I had blogged or made anything, you see, I've been in that indecisive place where I can't decide what to make next.
In the end, I decided that a small project was called for and remembered about this cute tutorial.

Now if I had planned to make this, then I might have coordinated the patches a bit better, but with the exception of the green and white spots (which seemed like a good idea late last night!), I think it looks pretty good for a spur of the moment job! Not only that, but I managed to use up some scraps of old tea towels that I still had lying about from a previous project.
I've learnt quite a few different techniques for inserting zips recently, but I must admit that the method used for this pouch is one of my favourites. I just love it, so neat and tidy!

lovely little pouch. I love the patchwork. do you need a special zipper foot to put zips in?
ReplyDeleteYes Katie, you need a zipper foot. Check the tools that came with your machine, you might find that there is a zipper foot among them (mine was)
ReplyDeleteI was the lucky recipient of Kat's pouch and love it. Yours is very cute too.

ReplyDeleteIt looks great..I think the strips of colour are good choices.
ReplyDeleteAhhh. Nothing like a good bit of sewing on the spur of the moment to get your mojo back. I have been yarning all winter and I am just itching to get back to playing with fabric! :) I love what you have done - very pretty and yummy colours to boot! :)
