... Rascal and I had great fun cleaning the shower today!
Now this is not really a job that I would normally share with a toddler as the cleaning products can be harsh and not particularly toddler friendly. However, I was more than happy to let Rascal squirt the cleaner onto the glass today as it was a mixture of water, vinegar and a few drops of liquid detergent. Recipe here. Rascal loved her job and each squirt was accompanied by a peel of giggles.
To be honest, I was a wee bit sceptical as to how clean the shower would become using this homemade potion, but I was pleasantly surprised. I did not have to scrub particularly hard and the large amount of limescaleΩ all disappeared no problem.
Spurred on by my success, I went on use Wendyl Nissen's recipe to make Spray Cleaner (recipe on the same page as the window cleaner). All I can say is WOW! It is heaps better than the shop bought cleaners. Our kitchen counter is sparkling and has no smears. Even hubby has been impressed and when he used the cleaner himself, immediately announced that we shouldn't buy any more spray cleaners.
Totally unrelated picture to avoid a pictureless post! This is Skara Brae, a stone age village in Orkney (off the North Coast of Scotland) |
my hubby loves the spray cleaner too, its fab isn't it! love wendyl's recipes :)
ReplyDeleteI can recommend the Lemon Dusters - they are awesome for dusting without flicking the dust everywhere and I love the smell of lemon!
ReplyDeleteMust try the spray cleaner and the shower cleaner.
I've tried Megan's (Mousehouse) baby wipes spray bottle recipe and it's worked wonders - no sign of nappy rash and smells lovely with lavendar and tea tree oil in it :-)
Love a good natural cleaner!
ReplyDeleteAlso LOVE Skara Brae....DH and I were so completely fascinated when we visited a few years ago. Wish we had spent more time on Orkney :( Next time we will :D
