When I found this cute tea towel, I knew that it would make a great apron for rascal.
I had to be slightly more creative than planned as the shop that I would normally buy the straps has been badly damaged by the earthquake and is closed until further notice. Luckily, I made a good purchase earlier in the week when I bought a couple of tea towels on sale. Look how they were packaged...
I would have preferred thicker straps and a double D ring so that the neck strap would be adjustable, but beggars can't be choosers and under the circumstances I'm pretty pleased. Another option would have been these cotton straps, which I LOVE! How cute!?! If they didn't have to come all the way from France, I might have been tempted, but it seemed a bit over the top and my budget is just not up to it and.
Here is the finished item:
Rascal loves her new apron and the fact that she can help out in the kitchen when she wears it. Now we'll never stop hearing "'elpe Daddy, 'elpe Mummy!"
To see a different childs apron made from a tea towel go over to Creating Childhood Memories... don't you just love the cute cupcakes!

ReplyDeleteThat's very cool. I have made aprons with D rings but now I don't because I found they were too slippy and kept coming undone. I probably have some somewhere I could give you.
