Rascal and I had a creative afternoon yesterday. We finally got round to making some Christmas cards and even though it is technically past the last day of postage for Europe, several lucky family members will be receiving our beautiful creations.
Our cards were made using watercolour paints and crayons. A blog that I read a few weeks ago reminded me about this techniques, but I cannot for the life of me remember which one it was!
Basically, I drew simple Christmas designs using a while crayon (you could also use a white candle) and then rascal painted over the paper with watercolour paints and magically discovered the pictures. It was great fun to do and I was surprised how long it kept rascal's attention. The painting was done on bog standard white paper (so that rascal didn't waste good quality paper). Afterwards I stuck the works of art onto some coloured cardboard.
VOILA! beautiful (?) works of art for friends and family.
