When I was little, my Mum made me a Christmas Stocking. It took her several years as it was put away each year with the Christmas decorations and came out again round about Christmas Eve when she would madly try to finish it. Needless to say, I had to make do with one of my Dad's (clean) socks until it was finished. Anyway, it was worth the wait and I have always been really proud of the finished item:
I decided that I wanted to make a Christmas stocking for the wee rascal and it has surprised me how quickly it has come together. Having seen some pretty stunning stockings floating around the blog-o-sphere I was initially a bit reluctant to show off my effort, but the more that I look at it the more proud of it I become! All I've got to do now is get the sewing machine out and sew the two sides together. I might also embroider my daughters name along the top of the stocking, but I am scared that I will ruin the whole thing with my dodgy embroidery!
(Please excuse the slightly dodgy photos, I am still playing around with how and where to take this kind of photos, today's efforts aren't that great, but failing camera batteries excluded more attempts!)
I enjoyed making this stocking so much that I might have to keep sewing and make one for bubs now... if all goes to plan and bubs doesn't keep us waiting too long, it might even be needed this year!!!
Awesome! You should be proud :)
ReplyDeleteWell done you! That is great work.
ReplyDeletethey are awesome, well done.
ReplyDeleteI have the material sitting waiting for me to start our stocking. I might be like your mum and take years to complete them :)
