My Etsy store has now been closed.
My Craftsy store still exists, but only stocks free patterns.
I hope that these closures are temporary, but only time will tell.
For the time being, my patterns will only be available from (see link above).

Thank you for your patience in this time of transition

At the moment I'm really really trying to be good and to finish off existing projects before starting on new ones. The sole exception to this rule is that I have to make something using my paper pieced triceratops pattern for the winner of my recent giveaway.

I must admit that I squealed out loud when Kristine emailed me to tell me that her son had chosen the Triceratops pattern out of my set of three dinosaurs. Its the dinosaur pattern that I am most excited about and the one that I was most desperate to try out.

As the original brief for the dinosaur blocks had been to design dinosaurs that weren't too cutesy, I was aware that I had to be careful in my fabric choices. This dinosaur had to be life-like and fierce, so when I saw the green scale fabric, I knew that I had to buy it. I'm really pleased how well it worked.

I can't wait to quilt this, turn it into a cushion and send it to its new home!

And just incase you think that dinosaurs are only for boys. Just have a look at Elisabeth's version (complete with red nail varnish!) Aren't those quilted clouds just the cutest!

For those who want a turn at creating their own dinosaur, the triceratops pattern is now available in my Craftsy Store.

I'm linking in with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced.

  1. I love him! Well done - another great looking pattern!

  2. the awesomeness of an archaeologist making dinosaur patterns is pretty funny right? I know you'd probably be all about people artifacts mostly but still.... it makes me smile

  3. He is awesome - and so is she! Way cool pattern Juliet :)

  4. Very cool! I imagine a lot of little boys will be wanting their mums to whip this up!

  5. He looks fantastic! You must be stoked with him. I was admiring your fabric choice on IG. It's perfect.

  6. The green scale fabric is perfect, Juliet! Having seen your triceratops, I'm keen to sew a four legged dinosaur, BUT I will leave it a little while.

  7. I love the fabrics you chose.

  8. This is so awesome, my 6 year old daughter has been dino crazy since day one....she will LOVE this! Thank you so much for sharing, very generous of you. XX :D

  9. Totally love the triceratops! One of the things I love about your animal patterns is that the forms are simplified while retaining all the characteristics. So they're fantastic and cute without being cutesy. Wonderful! Can't wait to try the Meerkats as well.
