My first finish of 2014

While I was away on holiday I took a complete break from both sewing and the computer.
It was something that I needed to do and perhaps something that I should do more often (especially the computer part).

I really enjoyed it and it definitely added to the relaxation of the holiday, but it left me in need of something to do in the evenings. Luckily I had the perfect project. A bit of selfish knitting in the form of a Tea Leaves cardigan.

The yarn is Red Riding Hood Yarn in the colour Flight of the Griffin. Its a really gorgeous shade of deep jade green and I love it!

The knit was pretty straight forward (except the part where I ran out of wool and had to make the sleeves 3/4 length- oops!).

My biggest source of indecision in the making of this cardigan was the buttons. I found these cute bicycle buttons in my stash but I must admit that I am not completely committed to them. What do you think? Should I replace them with something subtler?

  7. I love the buttons too, but possibly not on that cardigan. I'd investigate some wood buttons for it, I think that would be a nice contrast but more in keeping with the finished item. Makes me wish I had enough of RRHY to make a jersey; but alas, I have one skein only.
