Cushion Craziness

Christmas seems so so long ago, but I DID promise to share with you about my Christmas makings so here they are in brief.

I made personalised cushions for my family using my own patterns. My Dad the cushion hating puffin lover forgave me for giving him a cushion when he saw the design. My sister loves her Robin cushion and my brother was blown away by his Omani Owl cushion (the last I heard he was using it as a pillow at night!). I wish that I'd given the Omani Owl cushion a border, but it doesn't bother my brother so I guess I just need to get over myself and forget about that!

I have already shown you the morepork and falcon cushions that I gave my mother-in-law and father-in-law, I needn't have worried, they were really gratefully received.. The final cushion in this photo was a rainbow fantail which was a birthday present for a friend just before Christmas- I thought it deserved a place in this cushion line-up!

I found it a bit intimidating sewing these presents for my family and people who didn't really know what I was up to in the sewing world, but my cushions really did receive such amazing receptions that I would definitely consider doing it again.

When I see all of the cushions laid out next to each, it kind of blows my mind. I can't quite get my head around the fact that they are completely my own work- my patterns; my fabric choices and my sewing.

Rascal and Scallywag didn't miss out on the Christmas makings! They received their usual pairs of Christmas pyjamas (which went down a treat) and a few other pieces of clothing- nothing particularly exciting or blog-worthy, but the sort of things that make a 3 and a 5 year old very happy!
