I don't know about you, but sometimes an idea takes seed in the back of my mind and it slowly grows until it reaches the point that I just have to share it.
When I finished designing my New Zealand bird patterns, I had the idea to ask you guys what I should design next. Its not that I'm lacking in inspiration (I've got a couple of exciting patterns in the works), its just that I love the results of other blogging collaborations that I've seen recently.
But I didn't want it to seem as if I am just leaching all of your cool inspiring ideas so here is the deal:
Give me your ideas- what pattern or patterns should I design next? Be as specific as you can, but if you are suggesting an image then please take copyright into account. I'd love to work from original drawings. Animals, birds, objects, geometric designs - I'm willing to give anything a go! But what I am really looking for are fresh exciting ideas. I will not choose ideas that I feel have been done a hundred times before.
You can give me your ideas in the following ways:
- Leave a comment on this post
- Post your comments or pictures to the Tartankiwi facebook page
- Leave a comment on the relevant picture on instagram
- Post your pictures on instagram with the hashtag #tartankiwiinspiration
You have until December 4th to post your ideas.
Once the suggestions have been collected, I will choose the three ideas that I like the most and draft patterns for them.
I will then ask you guys to vote on your favourite pattern and will then make it up the winning design in fabric (as a cushion, a bag or something cool) and send it to the person who suggested it.
A pdf of the completed pattern will be added to my Craftsy store. As usual it will be free for a limited period of time and will then probably have a minimal charge added. If the winner is a quilter, I will also send them a PDF of the pattern.
I reserve the right to also add the other two top three patterns to my Craftsy store, if this happens, I will also send something nice to the people who suggested them.
Please note that the made up item will NOT be finished before Christmas!
So what are you waiting for?
I can't wait to see what you all suggest!
