Butterfly Baby Quilt Progress

Remember me saying that I had sewn myself into a corner with my baby quilt? The good news is that I'm out and running now!

After finishing the first four small blocks, I had run out of some of the most important fabrics and I was at a bit of a loss, so armed with the blocks that I had completed, I went in search of some fabric.

I settled upon solid colours.

Once the fabric choices were made, progress was fairly fast, I love both of the large blocks, but am especially pleased with the butterfly- so pretty!

I was on a roll so I finished off the top.

Its ALL my own design so I'm mighty proud!

I have to warn you that if you are scared of colour or dislike pink- look away now!
Butterfly quilt
Too pink? Possibly, but I don't care.

I'm just keeping my fingers well and truly crossed that the recipient of this quilt will like the colours.

Pretty with the sun shining through!

Now please don't fall over in shock when you read this, but when I was buying my solids for the top, I also had the foresight to buy backing fabric- I KNOW, its unheard of for me to be so organised! So I'm hoping to get this quilt finished nice and quickly. The quilting will not be fancy, but it should do the job. (I haven't thought about binding yet though- couldn't go shocking you too much in one day!)

Hopefully I'll get this one finished in the next few days and then I can send it off to its new home. Fingers crossed!

I'm joining in with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced.
