WIP Wednesday- Hexie Madness

Ummmmm... Oops!

I've been thinking that I need a good portable crafting project. One that I can take with me on some up and coming adventures. Sooooo, I may be a bit late to the party, but I finally decided to join in on the hexie craze that has been sweeping the world recently.

I started playing with fabrics and hexies today and I only really meant to make a decision as to what I am going to make and which fabrics I would use...

I wasn't really getting a clear idea, so I decided that I should maybe just cut out a few hexies, just to see what they'd be like...

... And yes, you guessed it, next thing I knew I was making my first few hexies.

I LOVE them!

... Still don't know what I'm going to do with them!

Maybe a cushion?... Or a bag?... Or a mini quilt?
I'm sure I'll work it out sometime.
In the meantime I'll just have fun making hexies until I run out of papers!

Oh and its been very quiet on the Sampler Quilt front recently, but I have another block to share. This is the last block from round two of the Modern Sampler Bee. Cat finished it months ago, but it took the scenic route to get here.

I love it, especially the fabrics that Cat chose. They are really true to her style and I will smile every time that I see this block and think of my good friend.

These are all the wonderful blocks that I received in round two of the Bee:
Blocks by Sharon, Leonie, Me, Kelli, Nin and Debra

And here is the quilt itself! I'm so excited by how its taking shape!

I'm joining in with WIP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced

  10. Hehehe, good to see some one else addicted to hexies! I started for the same reason, and I have been hexying all over the world for a few months now (HK, Paris, Denmark and Melbourne!) Such a great portable craft. And rather addictive. Happy hexying! Cat.

  11. When I saw your picture, My first thought was, 'HEXIES!' and my second was 'Lucy's Crab Shack!!'. I LOVE Lucy's Crab Shack, and I'm beginning to feel the pull of the Hexie craze. Just what I need.....another project!!
A question for the Hexie ladies - what's the 'ideal' Hexie size for a beginner?

Also - that sampler quilt is wonderful!
