New Baby Gifts Continued

I was so excited by the way that this baby gift project was turning out, that the wait for the onesies to come out of the wash (As I was actually being sensible for a change and prewashed the onesies just in case they shrunk) was excruciating!

I got to work the minute that they were dry (literally!) and decided to keep the appliqué simple by just mirroring the stars on the trousers. Unsure of my ability to hand draw a non-wonky star shape, I printed a star from the computer. After a fair bit of indecision whether to attach the appliqué by hand or using the sewing machine, I finally decided on the machine. I must admit to having had a couple of minor mishaps along the way, but these were easily sorted and I'm now really happy with the way they turned out.

And here are the three finished outfits...
incase you were wondering, the navy trousers are my favourites!  (Shame all of my friends are expecting girls!- I might have to make a bigger version for Wee Man!)
I think they make great gifts and show a bit more imagination and thought than giving the products of a trip to Pumpkin Patch or Baby City. Don't you reckon!?
