My Creative Space- A Patchwork Pouch

Last night I got that creative itch...

It felt like AGES since I had blogged or made anything, you see, I've been in that indecisive place where I can't decide what to make next.
In the end, I decided that a small project was called for and remembered about this cute tutorial.
Now if I had planned to make this, then I might have coordinated the patches a bit better, but with the exception of the green and white spots (which seemed like a good idea late last night!), I think it looks pretty good for a spur of the moment job! Not only that, but I managed to use up some scraps of old tea towels that I still had lying about from a previous project.
I've learnt quite a few different techniques for inserting zips recently, but I must admit that the method used for this pouch is one of my favourites. I just love it, so neat and tidy!

  3. Yes Katie, you need a zipper foot. Check the tools that came with your machine, you might find that there is a zipper foot among them (mine was)

  9. Ahhh. Nothing like a good bit of sewing on the spur of the moment to get your mojo back. I have been yarning all winter and I am just itching to get back to playing with fabric! :) I love what you have done - very pretty and yummy colours to boot! :)
