A late New Years Resolution?!
Reading Widge's post about culling the other day got me all excited. I thought about all the time that I waste on facebook each day and what I actually get out of it. I must admit that even if I did know how often I go on there in a day, it is far too embarassing to admit!
I was all ready to join Widge in giving up facebook BUT just as I went on to facebook for what I promised myself would be the last time, a close friend who lives on North Island posted photos of their beautiful newborn baby. I was blown away by the beauty of my friend and her gorgeous daughter and realised that if I gave up on facebook I would not have seen these amazing photos.
This left me with a dilemma... give up on facebook and miss beauty such as that or stay on facebook and put up with all the rubbish.
I think that for the time being I am too much of a coward to give up on facebook completely, but I am going to severely limit my number of daily visits (shall we say a maximum of 2 short visits a day?) and I will work towards cutting it out of my life completely. I have a fairly manageable list of friends, but I will also cull the number of friends that I have so that I am only sharing things with people that I care about and not people who were once vague acquaintances at school or work.
Anyone else willing to join us in culling? Tell us about it, be it the number of blogs you follow, limiting facebook time wasting or something else completely. I'd love to hear about it.
